Holiday Ornaments! Swap and Hop!

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but inside its so delightful…

my view...

Ornamental dogs

coffee, fire, sleepy dogs, a warm shawl… and a twinkly tree to delight the eyes. And on that tree proudly displayed are my lovely gifts from Kim of KimmyKats. This hop is a great way to meet people-  I had known Kim from her work, and her participation on other hops. It was nice to chat via email and  – I confess  – stalk her blog to get ideas to personalize her ornament.

How thrilled was I to open this:

Kims ornaments

I had already admired Kim’s repurposing of flatware, and now to own 2! The stamped handle is gorgeous, the crystals and the detaisl on the bead caps accentuating the pattern of the flatware. And then the Santa! What detail! so adorable!

in situ...

cheating

( Yes, I am cheating. I am still working on the big tree as I write this. Its been really busy with teaching final classes at the studio and doing holiday shows. This gives you the idea of how great they will look… )

gnomes at home

( Tiny tree pictured in my cheater pix. Watch those gnomes with the wine… )

Thanks to Sally Russick of The Studio Sublime for another fabulous festive friendly hop! And thanks to my fab partner Kim! Please sip your eggnog or your cocoa and enjoy the other offering from these partners! Happy Holidays to all!

    Hi Jeannie,
Oh my the ornaments that Kim sent to you are gorgeous. I, like you am a big fan of Kim’s work. I am so jealous that you got one of her fork Santas.
The other ornament that she sent to you is a good way to remind you of the year that you received the ornament.

Wow! Those are just beautiful! I love the stamped handle, what a great way to remember when you received these beauties. Totally get the ‘rushing-around-trying-to-finish-things’ mode!
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Kim’s ornaments are so original! I love seeing the amazing things others do with repurposed silverware because I totally don’t have the talent for it.

And your ‘cheater tree’, with its lampworked beads as ornaments, is absolutely delightful.

    Jenny,

I love what Kim does with silverware! Especially the painting she does, it’s always AMAZING! I’m lucky enough to have a spoon that Kim painted with a little boy that looks like Wyatt! She has such a great eye for repurposing!

The ornament that you created for Kim is AMAZING! Thank you for swapping again this year!!! Have a very HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!! Miss you!!!!

I’ve been a fan of Kim’s jewelry for a while as well and I’m so excited that you have a few pieces of hers. Both of those are gorgeous, but the Santa just has me staring at the screen. I just love it.

I also snuck a peek at the ornament you made and it is so perfect. It fits Kim to a “t” and is so well done.

I have seen lots of stuff made from silverware. I even have a bracelet that my husband made me back in the 70’s, but your ornaments from Kim are really unique. It’s cool the way Santa’s beard curls. The ornament that you made her is outstanding. It is like you captured a slice of her life.
