- Mixed Media on canvas – 2008Ariadne – inspired by the Minoan snake goddess, she is the mistress of the labyrinth. Inside the niche is a labrys, or double axe representing power and transformation. The bull image, hidden in the labyrinth, references the masculine and the Minotaur. Enter the labyrinth – the journey is one of discovery, to the center, your center; you emerge transformed.

This Norse triad – Urd (Fate) Verthandi (Being) and Skuld (Necessity) are the goddesses of fate. The sit at the base of Ygdrassil, the world tree, and tend it with waters from Urd’s Well. Similar to the Greek Moirae, they spin the thread of life, take a person’s measure, and cut the thread when life is done. They are said to “score the wood” or carve the runes of destiny. What is yet to be written in the book of your destiny?

Demeter is the Greek goddess of the earth, of grain and fertility. Her daughter, Persephone is the Maiden of spring, yet also the Queen of the Underworld. Persephone spends half the year in the Underworld, as Demeter’s grief for her absent daughter plunges the Earth into barrenness – thus creating the cycle of the seasons. Growth returns when the Spring Maiden emerges from below.

- Mixed Media on canvas – 2008Primordial Night – to the Greeks she was Nyx. Born from Chaos she was the mother of Sleep, Dream, and Death… To The Egyptians she was Nut – the arching star studded sky above. Every night she swallowed the sun, nurturing it in her womb, and giving birth to the new day. Her sky body created the atmosphere, and held off chaos. The night can bring calm, peace; a welcome velvety tranquil darkness.
- Mixed Media on canvas – 2008Kwan Yin is the Chinese bodhisattva of mercy and compassion. She is seen as a protector of women, and the embodiment of unconditional love. Her symbols include a lotus, alluding to her beauty within and without; and a vase, in which she carried the nectar or immortality. She teaches us to live through your deeds; find peace at your center. Live a life of compassion; nurturing, blossoming.
